Liverpool set to beat Manchester City and AC Milan to forward’s signature
According to the football transfer rumours in German Media, Liverpool are set to beat Manchester City and AC Milan to Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s signature.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has joined Borussia Dortmund from Saint-Étienne for a fee in the region of 13 million euros in 2013. The 27 year-old has a valid contract with Borussia Dortmund until June 2020.
Since his arrival from Saint-Étienne, Aubameyang has scored 101 goals and provided 32 assists in 167 games for BVB, including 21 goals and provided four assists in 24 games in all competition this season.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best players in the Bundesliga.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has represented France at Under-21 level, winning one cap, before making his senior international debut for Gabon in March 2009. He has won 48 caps and scored 19 goals for Gabon national team.
The Gabon international is a player who has impressed many European Clubs in the last few seasons, and it is understood that his ex- Borussia Dortmund and now Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would prefer playing him at forward position, as a replacement for Daniel Sturridge.
Premier League giants Manchester City and AC Milan are apparently trailing Liverpool in the pursuit of Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Euro Football Rumours were informed that Borussia Dortmund valuate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the region of 47 million euros.
How strong that interest is and whether Liverpool, Manchester City or AC Milan will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
