It’s no secret that Liverpool are interested in Youri Tielemans. But who isn’t?
The latest reports in England suggest that Liverpool are keen on Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans.
Leicester spent 45 million euros to sign the Belgium international from Monaco in the summer of 2019. He has 17 months left on his current contract which expires in 2023.
In 133 appearances for Leicester, Tielemans has managed to score 23 goals, and create 22 goals for his teammates.
The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Belgium. His record for Belgium is also impressive. Tielemans has scored four goals in 47 matches for Belgium at senior level.
The midfielder has just 17 months remaining on his contract and Leicester may consider a deal in this summer transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.
Jürgen Klopp wants to sign a new midfielder and Tielemans is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. The report claims that Liverpool manager has extensively scouted Tielemans and is considering a move for the midfielder.
The Reds are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The former Monaco man will offer the Liverpool boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.
According to the report, “The Reds are keen to add Youri Tielemans to their midfield this summer, the report claims. The Belgian is being tracked by Arsenal, but Liverpool want to sign the £50m-rated star. He falls out of contract in summer 2023, leaving Leicester with little choice but to sell. Liverpool are likely to fund his arrival with some sales, however. Indeed, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Roberto Firmino are among those likely to be sacrificed.”

Good signing for Liverpool?
If Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp are seriously considering a midfielder, Tielemans could also prove to be a smart option.
He has all the skillset required to be a success story at Liverpool. Therefore, it makes sense for Klopp to step up his attempts to bring the Belgium midfielder to Premier League side.
Stylistically, Tielemans would be a great fit in Liverpool.
How strong that interest is and whether Liverpool will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
