Liverpool enter talks with Fiorentina for Sofyan Amrabat

The upcoming transfer window is set to witness a lot of quality midfielders switching clubs.

If a report from Tribalfootball is to be believed, Liverpool have entered talks with Fiorentina for Sofyan Amrabat.

The Morocco international joined Fiorentina from Hellas Verona for a fee in the region of 19.5 million euros in January 2020. His contract expires in the summer of 2024.

The midfielder has featured in 20 matches for Fiorentina this term in all competitions.

He is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Morocco. As a member of Morocco national football team, Amrabat won 43 caps.

Sofyan Amrabat is set to be a man in demand in the winter transfer window, with a host of clubs queuing up to pursue his signature.

The 26-year-old has been identified as one of the key targets to improve the midfield department.

Jürgen Klopp is a firm fan of Fiorentina midfielder and Liverpool could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

The Reds will have funds to spend in the market and it will be interesting to see how they approach the winter transfer window.

The former Club Brugge man will add a new dimension to Liverpool’s midfield. He has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.

According to the report, “Liverpool have opened in talks with Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. Il Corriere dello Sport says Liverpool have made contact with representatives of Amrabat and could offer to double his salary. The Reds are one of several sides to have been linked with Amrabat, following the midfielder’s impressive displays at the World Cup with Morocco. The North African side topped a group containing Croatia and Belgium. The report states that, while others are also interested, it is Liverpool who have made the first move in contracting those around Amrabat. Jurgen Klopp’s side are said to be readying a salary offer of around £3million – almost double the €1.8million (£1.55million) he is currently on at Fiorentina.”

Euro Football Rumours

Liverpool will have to present a really enticing offer to bring Fiorentina to the negotiating table. They have the resources to tempt them but it will be interesting to see if they are willing to overpay for the player.

The Gigliati would be wise to keep the Morocco international, but if they do let him go expect it to be for a hefty sum.

Good signing for Liverpool?

Sofyan Amrabat would be a fantastic recruit for Liverpool. He has all the skillset required to be a success story at Anfield. Therefore, it makes sense for Klopp to step up his attempts to bring the Morocco midfielder to Premier League side.

If Jürgen Klopp sees him as the right man for his side, Liverpool should quickly make a move to fend off interest from other clubs.
