Leeds willing to buy Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah
It is an open secret that Leeds need to sign a striker.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Leeds United are willing to buy Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
The 22-year-old’s contract at Arsenal is set to expire at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
The striker has featured in only three matches this term, netting two goals in all competitions.
The 22-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in England.
Eddie Nketiah has represented England at Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 38 caps and scoring 35 goals.
The England international is believed to be available for transfer, with Marcelo Bielsa now keen to bring him to Leeds United.
Bielsa needs to tighten up his attack and a striker would be a welcome addition. He is a firm fan of Arsenal striker and Leeds could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
Leeds United are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
Eddie Nketiah would provide a good variety to Leeds United’s attack.
According to the report, “Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is back in the radar of Leeds United. Nketiah, off contract in June, is interesting Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen. However, Germany’s Transfermarkt reports Leeds are among a host of clubs who have enquired over his availability. Fellow Premier League sides West Ham United and Crystal Palace are also reportedly in the running for his signature. Nketiah is out of contract with the Gunners at the end of the season and so Arsenal may look to move him on in January to avoid losing him for nothing. He spent the first half of the 2019/20 season on loan at Leeds, scoring five goals in 19 appearances across all competitions.”
