Juventus set to beat Liverpool to Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media, Juventus are set to beat Liverpool to Roma’s midfielder Leandro Paredes.
Leandro Paredes has joined Roma from Boca Juniors for a fee in the region of 6 million euros in 2015. The 22 year-old has a valid contract with Roma until June 2019.
The Argentina international has scored two goals and provided one assist in 35 games for Roma, including one goal in 22 games in all competition this season.
Roma are keen to get Paredes off their books as they make way for the signing of new players.
The Argentina international is a player who has impressed many Premier Clubs including Everton in the last period, and it is understood that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would prefer playing him as a midfielder.
Euro Football Rumours understood that Liverpool are prepared to offer in the region of 31 million euros for Roma’s midfielder before the end of the January transfer window.
Leandro Paredes has been also a target of Massimiliano Allegri as the manager looks to bolster his midfield options for the second part of the season.
How strong that interest is and whether Juventus or Liverpool will complete a January move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
