Juventus could solve their issues at centre-back this summer as they eye up a move for Gabriel Magalhaes.
Reports in the British media claim that Juventus have entered talks with Arsenal for Gabriel Magalhaes.
Arsenal spent 26 million euros to sign the Brazil international from Lille in the summer of 2020. He has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2025.
The centre-back has featured in 39 matches last term, netting five goals in all competitions.
The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Brazil. Magalhaes has represented Brazil at Under-20 and Under-23 level, winning seven caps.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Juventus.
Massimiliano Allegri wants to sign a new centre-back and Magalhaes is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. Allegri is a firm fan of Arsenal centre-back and Juventus could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.
The Italian giants are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The former Lille man heavily relies on his ability to read the game. It is coupled with his sensible tackling and an excellent sense of positioning, allowing him to repel most of the danger in the defensive third.
According to the report, “Juventus have asked Arsenal to name their price for Gabriel Magalhaes. Juventus have contacted Arsenal about signing their centre-half Gabriel, says UOL. The Brazilian, 24, formed a solid central defensive pairing with Ben White for the Gunners last season. But Juve might test their resole with a bid as they see Magalhaes as a potential replacement for MLS-bound veteran Giorgio Chiellini, 37. Gabriel has been mentioned at Juve in a swap for midfielder Arthur Melo.”

It will be interesting to see if Juventus make their move for the 24-year-old in the coming weeks.
