Inter preparing move for Antonee Robinson

Fulham’s Antonee Robinson is the left-back that Inter are reportedly looking at to bolster their defensive options.

Reports in the British media claim that Inter are preparing move for Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson.

The USA international was signed by Fulham in August 2020 from Wigan Athletic for a fee of 2.1 million euros. He has a contract until 2024 with the club.

The left-back has featured in 13 matches for Fulham this term in all competitions.

He is considered to be one of the best left-backs in USA. Robinson has also left his mark at the international stage after netting two goals in 31 senior appearances for the USA national team.

Antonee Robinson is set to be a man in demand in the winter transfer window, with a host of clubs queuing up to pursue his signature.

Adding a left-back remains Inter’s top priority this winter and Simone Inzaghi will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.

The report claims that Inter manager has extensively scouted Robinson and is considering a move for the left-back.

The former Wigan Athletic man will add a new dimension to Inter’s defense. His arrival would give Inter some much needed tactical flexibility.

According to the report, “Fulham fullback Antonee Robinson is a target for Inter Milan. The Sun says the Italian giants are in the market for a new full-back and Robinson is being checked ahead of a potential offer in the window. Robinson almost joined Inter’s rivals AC Milan two years ago before an issue in his medical that was later found to be false. And while Milan have since gone elsewhere, Inter boss Simone Inzaghi is on the look out for an improvement in that area and Robinson fits the bill. Inter’s left wing-back is Federico Dimarco, 25, but they want competition for him and Robinson, who started his career at Everton, is catching the eye. The American flying machine was clocked as the fastest player in the first round of matches and his ability to attack as well as the pace to recover is making him an attractive option.”

The Cottagers are eager to keep the left-back beyond the current campaign, but the player may look to take the next step in his career.

If Robinson is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Inter.

The 25-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Inter squad and would be a good buy in the winter transfer window.
