Inter Milan leading the race for Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla

Inter Milan are planning a move for Marash Kumbulla.

According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Inter Milan are leading the race for Hellas Verona defender Marash Kumbulla.

The 20-year-old has a valid contract with Verona until June 2022.

Kumbulla made 22 appearances across all competitions for Verona, scoring one goal.

The 20-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Albania.

Marash Kumbulla has represented Albania at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 17 caps, before making his senior international debut in October 2019. As a member of Albania national football team, Kumbulla won one cap.

The Albania international will be high in demand this summer, with him having enjoyed a sublime season for Hellas Verona this term.

Antonio Conte wants to sign a new defender and Kumbulla is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

Inter have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.

Conte is a long term admirer of Kumbulla and believes he can get the most out of the Albania international.

Marash Kumbulla can play multiple positions in defense.

According to the report, “Inter have made a beeline for the centre-back and are putting their resources into securing a summer deal. They are offering €20m plus another €5m in performance-related bonuses, but that is still below the €30m asking price. Napoli had been close to an agreement with the club, although it appears as if they have not been able to work out personal terms with the player. Lazio, Fiorentina, Manchester United and Chelsea are also known to be interested, along with some Bundesliga clubs, but Inter are the absolute favourites to sign Kumbulla.”

Hellas Verona are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the defender, but offers of at least 30 million euros may force the club to consider a deal.

Marash Kumbulla’s arrival will be a huge boost for Inter.
