Fulham target Atletico Madrid centre-back Caglar Soyuncu

Fulham Football Club have identified Turkish defensive talent Caglar Soyuncu as a prime target to bolster their squad ahead of the upcoming season. With Tosin Adarabioyo set to leave on a Bosman transfer this summer, the London-based club sees Soyuncu as an ideal replacement to shore up their backline.

Soyuncu’s journey in the footballing world has seen him traverse different leagues and clubs. On July 5, 2023, the towering defender made a significant move to Atlético Madrid in La Liga, signing a four-year contract. However, his time in the Spanish capital was short-lived as he embarked on a loan spell to Süper Lig side Fenerbahçe on January 29, 2024, for the remainder of the season.

His adaptability and strong performances have caught the attention of Fulham’s scouting team, who view him as a player capable of making an immediate impact in the Premier League.

Standing at an imposing height of 1.85 meters, Soyuncu’s aerial prowess is a notable attribute that sets him apart on the pitch. Alongside his physical attributes, he possesses commendable leadership qualities and technical skills, including playmaking, dribbling, and timing, which make him a well-rounded defender capable of influencing the game at both ends of the pitch.

While Atlético Madrid may prefer a permanent transfer, Fulham is reportedly considering the possibility of a loan deal with an option for a permanent transfer in the future. This arrangement could suit both parties, allowing Fulham to secure Soyuncu’s services while providing Atlético Madrid with flexibility in managing their squad.

Expressing his desire to return to English football, Soyuncu is eager for a new challenge and sees Fulham as an exciting prospect for the next phase of his career. His potential arrival would not only address Fulham’s defensive needs but also inject a fresh impetus into their squad as they look to compete in the Premier League.
