Franck Kessie wanted by Barcelona
It is an open secret that Barcelona need to sign a midfielder.
According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Franck Kessie is wanted by Barcelona.
The Ivory Coast international was signed by Milan in July 2019 from Atalanta for a fee of 24 million euros. The 24-year-old has a contract until 2022 with the club.
Since his arrival from Atalanta, Kessie has scored 30 goals and provided 15 assists in 185 games for Milan.
He is 24-year-old and has his peak years ahead.
The Milan midfielder has also represented the Ivory Coast at various youth levels before going on to secure 44 senior caps for his country thus far.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Barcelona.
Ronald Koeman wants to sign a new midfielder and Kessie is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. The report claims that Barcelona manager has extensively scouted Kessie and is considering a move for the midfielder.
The La Liga club are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
There is no doubt that Kessie will take Barcelona’s midfield to a different level.
According to the report, “Barcelona are reportedly considering a potential 2022 transfer swoop for AC Milan midfield star Franck Kessie. The Ivory Coast international is yet to agree a new contract extension with the Serie A giants and he could now possibly leave the San Siro on a free transfer at the end of the current season. According to reports from Mundo Deportivo, La Blaugrana boss Ronald Koeman has highlighted midfield as a key area to be strengthened in the coming months, with Kessie now a key target. Koeman is also rumoured to be tracking Leicester City schemer Youri Tielemans but Kessie would represent a cheaper option due to his contract situation.”
