Everton poised to land Oleksandr Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko is getting closer to Everton day by day as transfer talk continues to intensify.

As per British media, Everton are poised to land Manchester City left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko.

The 25-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

He has been with Manchester City since 2016, having signed for the club from Ufa for 2 million euros. The Ukraine international’s current deal expires in 2024.

The left-back has featured in 28 matches last term, providing five assists in all competitions.

He is 25-year-old and has his peak years ahead. Zinchenko has represented Ukraine at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 28 caps and scoring 4 goals, before making his senior international debut in October 2015. As a member of Ukraine national football team, Oleksandr Zinchenko won 52 caps and he scored 8 goals.

The Ukraine international is believed to be available for transfer, with Frank Lampard now keen to bring him to Everton. Lampard is a firm fan of Manchester City left-back and Everton could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

Everton are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

The former Ufa man has the talent to play many roles in defense and midfield. His versatile nature can help the manager to be more flexible with the formations.

According to the report, “Everton are readying a bid for Manchester City defender Oleks Zinchenko. Goal says Everton are preparing a bid for Zinchenko. Frank Lampard wants to bring the Ukrainian to Goodison Park with a new role in mind. The Toffees boss intends to field Zinchenko in central midfield – where he often plays for his country – rather than his more accustomed left-back position. West Ham are also interested in the 25-year-old, but Everton hope that Vitalii Mykolenko – an international teammate mate of Zinchenko – can help swing a deal in their favour.”

The Toffees might have to pay over the odds to sign the left-back. It is claimed that City are open to letting Oleksandr Zinchenko go.

Good signing for Everton?

If Zinchenko is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Everton.

Oleksandr Zinchenko has all the skillset required to be a success story at Everton. Therefore, it makes sense for Frank Lampard to step up his attempts to bring the Ukraine left-back to Premier League side.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Everton.

If Lampard sees him as the right man for his side, Everton should quickly make a move to fend off interest from other clubs.
