The Sweden international joined Bologna from Malmö FF for a fee in the region of 4.5 million euros in July 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
This season, Svanberg has provided one assist in 20 appearances for Bologna.
The 21-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Sweden.
Mattias Svanberg has represented Sweden at Under-15, Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 39 caps and scoring 6 goals, before making his senior international debut in November 2019. As a member of Sweden national football team, Svanberg won one cap.
