It’s no secret that Everton are interested in Hwang Hee-chan. But who isn’t?
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Everton have joined the hunt for Red Bull Salzburg forward Hwang Hee-chan.
The South Korea international joined Red Bull Salzburg from Pohang Steelers. The 24-year-old has one year left on his current contract which expires in 2021.
The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best forwards in South Korea.
The Red Bull Salzburg forward has also represented the South Korea at various youth levels before going on to secure 32 senior caps for his country thus far.
Hee-chan will be high in demand this summer, with him having enjoyed a sublime season for Red Bull Salzburg this term.
Carlo Ancelotti wants to sign a new forward and Hwang Hee-chan is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
The report claims that Everton manager has extensively scouted Hee-chan and is considering a move for the forward.
His finishing abilities when in and around the box will come as a massive asset to Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Everton are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
There is no doubt that Hwang Hee-chan will take Everton’s attack to a different level.
According to the report, “Everton are pursuing Red Bull Salzburg attacker Hwang Hee-chan ahead of the summer window. It’s claimed that Everton are having to adjust their transfer plans. The global pandemic means that they may not be able to splash huge cash, and the Toffees are considering alternative targets. The only player mentioned as an active target is Hwang. Everton will allegedly ‘prioritise quality over quantity’ whenever the window opens, with the South Korean star wanted. The focus at Salzburg this season has been on Dominik Szoboszlai, as well as now-departed Erling Haaland and Takumi Minaimino, but Hwang has enjoyed a strong season too. With 13 goals and 16 assists in 29 outings, Hwang is averaging a goal involvement in every game. Predominantly a striker, Hwang can also play on either flank. Hwang has been tipped for a bright future for some time, but lost his way in 2018. He joined Hamburg on loan following their relegation to Germany’s second tier, but managed just two goals in 21 games.”
