Espanyol keen on Torino striker Simone Zaza
Espanyol target Simone Zaza from Torino to boost their attacking options.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Espanyol are keen on Torino striker Simone Zaza.
The Italy international joined Torino from Valencia for a fee in the region of 12 million euros in July 2019. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
This season, Zaza has scored 6 goals and provided 4 assists in 17 appearances for Torino.
Adding a striker remains Espanyol’s top priority this winter and Pablo Machín will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.
The Italy international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of striker Machín wants to target in the winter transfer window.
Zaza is a traditional number nine, having all types of finishes in his locker.

The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Turin-based club in the coming months after failing to secure his spot in the start XI in the ongoing campaign. As per the latest report, Espanyol are interested in bringing Zaza back to Spain where he has already represented Valencia in the past.”

Torino are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the striker, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.
However, a move to Espanyol will be ideal for the 28-year-old at this point of his career.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Espanyol.
How strong that interest is and whether Espanyol will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
