Crystal Palace linked with surprise move for PSG left-back Layvin Kurzawa

The defensive department of the Crystal Palace squad needs quality additions this summer.

As per British and French media, Crystal Palace are linked with surprise move for Paris Saint-Germain left-back Layvin Kurzawa.

The France international was signed by Paris Saint-Germain in August 2015 from Monaco for a fee of 25 million euros. The 28-year-old has a contract until 2024 with the club.

In 153 appearances for PSG, Kurzawa has managed to score 14 goals, and create 23 goals for his teammates.

The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best left-backs in France. As a member of France national football team, Kurzawa won 13 caps and he scored one goal.

Layvin Kurzawa is currently out of favor at Paris Saint-Germain and could leave the club this summer.

Patrick Vieira wants to sign a new left-back and Kurzawa is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a firm fan of Paris Saint-Germain left-back and Palace could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

The Premier League club are desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window.

Layvin Kurzawa has been a good servant for Paris Saint-Germain, and is a left-back who places himself in the right positions in defensive situations. His arrival would give Crystal Palace some much needed tactical flexibility.

According to the report, “Crystal Palace are eyeing Paris Saint-Germain fullback Layvin Kurzawa. Foot Mercato says former Nice boss Patrick Vieira is ready to dip back into the French league market and try to sign the left-back, who has drawn attention in the past from Manchester United, Chelsea, West Ham and Spurs. And sources in the French capital claim Kurzawa’s advisors have offered him to Palace. The deposed serial champions are expected to seek around £11million for him. Born at Frejus on the French Riviera, he spent eight years with Monaco before a £20m move to the Parisians.”

Crystal Palace will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Kurzawa to join the club.

If Palace can agree on a fee with PSG, the deal should be easy to complete.

Good signing for Crystal Palace?

If Kurzawa is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Crystal Palace.

The 28-year-old has all the skillset required to be a success story at Crystal Palace. Therefore, it makes sense for Patrick Vieira to step up his attempts to bring the France left-back to Premier League side.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in London.

It will be interesting to see whether Crystal Palace will make their move during the summer transfer window.
