Crystal Palace linked with a move for Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton
According to the football transfer rumours in British Media, Crystal Palace are linked with a move for Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
Tom Heaton has joined Burnley from Bristol City on a free transfer in July 2013. The 31 year-old has a valid contract with Burnley until June 2020.
Since his arrival from Bristol City, Tom Heaton has conceded 182 goals and provided 60 clean sheets in 171 games for Burnley, including 43 goals and provided 10 clean sheets in 33 games this season in all competitions.
The 31-year-old is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in England.
Tom Heaton has represented England at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 19 caps, before making his senior international debut in May 2016. As a member of England national team, he won only two caps.
The England international is a goalkeeper who has impressed many Premier League clubs in the last few seasons, and it is understood that Crystal Palace manager Sam Allardyce would prefer playing him as a replacement of Steve Mandanda.
Euro Football Rumours understood that Newcastle United are apparently trailing Crystal Palace in the pursuit of Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton.
How strong that interest is and whether Crystal Palace will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
