Crystal Palace and Leicester City frontrunners for Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji

Crystal Palace and Leicester City are frontrunners for Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji, according to the football transfer rumours in English Media.

Kara Mbodji has joined Anderlecht from KRC Genk for a fee in the region of 3 million euros in August 2015. The 27 year-old has a valid contract with Anderlecht until the June 2019.

Since his arrival from KRC Genk, Kara Mbodji has scored six goals and provided seven assists in 71 games for Anderlecht, including three goals and four assists in 30 games in all competition this season.

Kara Mbodji has also represented Senegal at Under-23 level, winning four caps and scoring one goal. Since September 2012, Mbodji is a member of Senegal national football team, winning 39 caps and scoring four goals.

The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best defenders in the Senegal.

The Senegal international has been in fantastic form for Anderlecht this season.

Kara Mbodji has been long term target of Sam Allardyce and Craig Shakespeare as the managers look to bolster their defensive options for the next season.

How strong that interest is and whether Crystal Palace and Leicester City will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
