Crystal Palace interested in Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar

Crystal Palace have been heavily linked with a move for Khouma Babacar over the course of the summer transfer window.

According to the football transfer rumours in Italian Media (Calciomercato), Crystal Palace are interested in Fiorentina striker Khouma Babacar.

The Senegal international has joined Fiorentina from Pescara in July 2008. The 24-year-old has a valid contract with Fiorentina until June 2019.

Babacar made 113 appearances across all competitions for Fiorentina, scoring 34 goals and supplying 9 assists in return.

The 24-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Senegal.

Khouma Babacar has represented Senegal at Under-17 and Under-20 level, winning 9 caps and scoring two goals, before making his senior international debut in March 2017. As a member of Senegal national football team, Khouma Babacar has won three caps.

Adding a striker remains Crystal Palace’s top priority this winter and Roy Hodgson will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming months.

The Senegal international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of attacking player Roy Hodgson wants to target in the winter transfer window.

Roy Hodgson will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this winter and the Fiorentina striker is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.




Crystal Palace will be in the market for just a handful of statement signings this winter who can improve the first-team.

According to the report in Italian Media, the Senegal international has started the season on the bench and he could be open to a move to England in January.

How strong that interest is and whether Crystal Palace will make a winter move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
