Chelsea willing to buy Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt

The upcoming summer will see Chelsea improving their defensive department.

The reports in England suggested that Chelsea are willing to buy Juventus centre-back Matthijs de Ligt.

The 22-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

Juventus spent 85.5 million euros to sign the Netherlands international from Ajax in the summer of 2019. He has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2024.

The centre-back has featured in 24 matches this term, netting one goal in all competitions.

The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Netherlands. De Ligt has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 2 goals in 33 senior appearances for the Netherlands national team.

Barcelona are also interested, though intermediaries are aware Chelsea are keen.”
