Chelsea will look to sign Aurelien Tchouameni
Chelsea had been linked with a potential move to sign Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer transfer window.
The latest reports in England suggest that Chelsea will look to sign Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
The 21-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
Monaco spent 18 million euros to sign the France international from Bordeaux in the winter of 2020. The 21-year-old has three years left on his current contract which expires in 2024.
The midfielder has banged in two goals in 20 matches this term on all fronts.
The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in France. Aurelien Tchouameni has represented France at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 52 caps and scoring one goal, before making his senior international debut in September 2021. As a member of France national football team, Tchouameni won 6 caps.
His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
The Blues are looking to sign a midfielder and have identified the 21-year-old as potential transfer target. They have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.
Tchouameni is a long-term target of Chelsea and could be a decent addition for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
The France international has the talent to play many roles in midfield. His arrival would give Chelsea some much needed tactical flexibility.
According to the report, “Chelsea are ready to step up their interest in long-term target Aurelien Tchouameni in January, and could try and seal a deal that would not see him join until the summer. The Blues looked closely at a deal for Tchouameni earlier this year, but instead opted to bring in Saul on-loan from Atletico Madrid. Indeed, Chelsea could have sealed a deal for less than £30million for the 21-year-old but now the deal for the Monaco man is in excess of £40m. Tchouameni is believed to be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge, but the interest in him is growing and growing. Both Milan clubs are keen, along with Serie A rivals Juventus whilst Paris Saint Germain are also in the running. Liverpool and Manchester United are also looking very closely at the player, having scouted him heavily late last season. Chelsea – who will benefit from the returning Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour next season – are considering tying up a deal for the player in January, with a view to him joining in the summer. That is similar to what they did to secure the signing of Christian Pulisic in 2019. The Blues see Tchouameni as someone who would be a long-term replacement for the likes of N’Golo Kante and Jorginho – who currently both have just over 18-months left on their current deals.”
