Chelsea poised to land Porto left-back Alex Telles

There has been numerous left-backs linked with Chelsea in past few months.

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Chelsea are poised to land Porto left-back Alex Telles.

The 27-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

Porto spent 6.5 million euros to sign the Brazil international from Galatasaray in the summer of 2016. The 27-year-old has a valid contract with Porto until June 2021.

The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best left-backs in Brazil. As a member of Brazil national football team, Alex Telles won one cap.

The Brazil international has impressed in Liga NOS this season and is starting to attract the interest of bigger clubs.

Frank Lampard wants to sign a new left-back and Telles is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.


The Brazil international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Lampard wants to target in the winter transfer window.

According to the report, “Chelsea are willing to turn to Porto fullback Alex Telles. A Bola says Chelsea are looking to sign Telles. The Blues are in the market for a left-back to replace Marcos Alonso, who is reportedly surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, Leicester star Ben Chilwell is considered first-choice for Frank Lampard, but Chelsea have monitored Telles for a long time. Telles, 27, is out of contract in June 2021 and is unlikely to sign an extension.”


If Chelsea are genuinely interested, a deal would not be impossible to complete.

Undoubtedly he would be a fantastic recruit for Chelsea.

How strong that interest is and whether Chelsea will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
