The report claims that Chelsea manager has extensively scouted Sosa and is considering a move for the left-back.

Borna Sosa is a skilled left-back who can make a difference at both ends of the pitch. The former Dinamo Zagreb man would provide a good variety to Chelsea’s defense.

According to the report, “Chelsea are continuing to assess Stuttgart left-back Borna Sosa. The talented flyer has been compared to former England and Manchester United midfielder David Beckham for his aesthetics and ability on the ball. With long, blonde hair and excellent crossing ability, Sosa is also a huge admirer of Beckham. According to football.london, Chelsea are looking at candidates to sign for the left-back slot to give Ben Chilwell competition for next season. Chilwell is currently out with an injury, but is expected to be back before this season concludes. Sosa is 24 and may be someone Chelsea targets if they sell Marcos Alonso in the summer.”

The English giants have to fork out a huge transfer fee if they are genuinely interested in the Croatia international.

Stuttgart would be wise to keep the 24-year-old, but if they do let him go expect it to be for a hefty sum.

Good signing for Chelsea?

Borna Sosa stands as an excellent option for Chelsea.

Of course, the 24-year-old is not going to become a regular for Chelsea straightaway, but working under Thomas Tuchel would make him a better player.

All in all, Sosa will be an ideal choice for Tuchel as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what he demands from his defenders.

How strong that interest is and whether Chelsea will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
