According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Chelsea are linked with a move for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope.
The 27-year-old has been subject to interest from various Premier League clubs.
The England international joined Burnley from Charlton Athletic for a fee in the region of 1.3 million euros in July 2016. His contract expires in the summer of 2023.
Since his arrival from Charlton, Pope has conceded 85 goals and provided 25 clean sheets in 68 games for Burnley.
Frank Lampard wants to sign a new goalkeeper and Pope is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.
The report claims that Chelsea manager has extensively scouted Nick Pope and is considering a move for the goalkeeper.
According to the report, “Chelsea are lining up a move for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope. Chelsea’s record signing Kepa Arrizabalaga is facing an uncertain future after a run of high profile errors. The Spaniard has faced criticism for Arsenal’s first equalising goal in midweek just days after being at fault for Newcastle’s winning goal at the weekend. The London Evening Standard says Burnley and England keeper Pope has reportedly been flagged as a possible replacement in the summer transfer window should Chelsea decide to cut their losses and make a change.”
