Chelsea linked with a move for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng

According to the football transfer rumours in German Media, Chelsea are linked with a move for Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng.

The Germany international was signed by Bayern Munich in July 2011 from Manchester City for a fee of 13.5 million euros. The 28-year-old has a valid contract with Bayern Munich until June 2021.

Since his arrival from Manchester City, Jerome Boateng has scored six goals and provided 16 assists in 227 games for Bayern Munich, including two only one assist in 21 games in all competitions this season.

The 28-year-old is considered to be one of the best defenders in Germany.

Jerome Boateng has represented Germany at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level, winning 36 caps and scoring four goals, before making his senior international debut in October 2009. As a member of Germany national football team, Jerome Boateng has won 67 caps and has scored one goal.

The Germany international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of defensive player Antonio Conte wants to target in the summer transfer window.

Euro Football Rumours understood that Antonio Conte will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the Bayern Munich defender is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.

How strong that interest is and whether Chelsea will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
