According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Chelsea are eyeing move for Monaco winger Aleksandr Golovin.

In 63 appearances for Monaco, Golovin has managed to score 7 goals, and create 8 goals for his teammates.

The 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best wingers in Russia.

His record for Russia is also impressive. Golovin has scored 5 goals in 33 matches for Russia at senior level.

His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.

By the club’s own admission, Monaco winger Golovin is Chelsea’s transfer target.

Golovin is a long-term target of Chelsea and could be a decent addition for Frank Lampard’s side. He would provide a good variety to Chelsea’s attack.

According to the report, “Chelsea are monitoring Monaco winger Aleksandr Golovin this season. The Russia international has been a long-term target for Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich. And Sport-Express says Abramovich could make a move for the midfielder at the end of this season. Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has discussed adding greater creativity to his midfield and Golovin could fit the bill. For the moment, there’s a belief ASM would be prepared to sell the Abramovich favourite for €25-30m.”

It would take a huge offer from Chelsea to prise the 23-year-old winger from Monaco.

It will be interesting to see whether Chelsea will make their move during the summer transfer window.
