The Stoke City centre-back heavily relies on his ability to read the game. It is coupled with his sensible tackling and an excellent sense of positioning, allowing him to repel most of the danger in the defensive third.

According to the report, “Burnley are preparing to make a significant bid for Stoke City centre-back Nathan Collins. According to Football Insider, with the source suggesting an offer of roughly £9 million is being prepared. The Clarets wanted the 19-year-old in January, but failed to secure his signature. Now it appears they are willing to pay an even higher price for Collins. Despite missing time in recent months due to a foot injury, Collins is highly rated and Burnley believe he can make the step up to the Premier League next term.”

Stoke are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the centre-back, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

Nathan Collins ideal fit for Burnley?

If Collins is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Burnley.

It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value.

As for the player, Burnley could be a great place for him to grow as a footballer. They will be able to provide him with regular first-team football and he will be coached by a very good manager like Sean Dyche.

It will be interesting to see whether Burnley will make their move during the summer transfer window.
