Brighton interested in Lokomotiv Moscow striker Eder

Brighton need to strengthen their attack this summer.

The reports in England suggested that Brighton are interested in Lokomotiv Moscow striker Eder.

The Portugal international was signed by Lokomotiv Moscow in July 2018 from Lille for a fee of 500,000 euros. The 33-year-old has a valid contract with Lokomotiv until June 2021.

The striker has banged in one goal and provided one assist in 22 matches for Lokomotiv Moscow this term on all fronts.

Eder has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 5 goals in 35 senior appearances for the Portugal national team.

The striker has just 3 months left on his deal and he is yet to sign a new contract. The Portugal international has openly expressed his desire to play at a higher level. This gives an indication that Eder probably won’t commit his future at the club.

Adding a striker remains Brighton’s top priority this summer and Graham Potter will have drafted a shortlist of a number of possible targets he could approach in the coming weeks.

Potter is a firm fan of Lokomotiv striker and Brighton could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

The Seagulls are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

The Portugal international provides a unique blend between a classic center-forward and the modern striker. Eder has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.

According to the report, “Brighton are being linked with a move for Portugal and Lokomotiv Moscow striker Eder, according to A Bola. The veteran forward is a hero in his home country due to his winning goal in the Euro 2016 final. Eder is unlikely to renew his contract with the Russian club, and is seeking a move. Championship clubs are interested in Eder, while Brighton have also declared their interest. The Seagulls have struggled in front of goal this season, having scored 27 goals in as many Premier League matches.”

Brighton will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Eder to join the club.

Good signing for Brighton?

Eder stands as an excellent option for Brighton. He has all the skillset required to be a success story at Brighton. Therefore, it makes sense for Graham Potter to step up his attempts to bring the Portugal striker to Premier League side.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Brighton.

It will be interesting to see whether Brighton will make their move during the summer transfer window.
