Borussia Dortmund keen to land Ajax striker Sebastien Haller
When it comes to the transfer market, Borussia Dortmund are simply one of the best in the business.
According to the football transfer rumours in Italian media, Borussia Dortmund are keen to land Ajax striker Sebastien Haller.
The Ivory Coast international only joined Ajax from West Ham United in January 2021 for 22.5 million euros and his contract runs to June 2025.
The striker banged in 11 goals and provided 2 assists in 12 matches this season across all fronts showcasing just how influential he has been in the final third.
The 27-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Ivory Coast.
Haller has also left his mark at the international stage after netting three goals in six senior appearances for the Ivory Coast national team.
The 27-year-old has been in impressive form for Ajax this season and it looks like he caught the eye of many European clubs including Borussia Dortmund.
By the club’s own admission, Haller is Borussia Dortmund’s number one transfer target.
He has been long term target of Marco Rose as the manager look to bolster his attacking options for the next season.
Sebastien Haller is a traditional number nine, having all types of finishes in his locker. He has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.
According to the report, “Borussia Dortmund are keen on signing Sebastien Haller from Ajax. According to Calciomercato, the French-Ivorian star is Dortmund’s key target to replace Erling Haaland in the summer. The latter is likely to move on in the summer transfer window, as he has a release clause which becomes active at the end of this season. If Haaland does leave for big money, Haller will reportedly be the man to take his place. Haller does have previous experience in the Bundesliga, having excellent time with Eintracht Frankfurt before moving to West Ham United in the Premier League and then Ajax.”

Borussia Dortmund will have to present a really enticing offer to bring Ajax to the negotiating table. BVB have the resources to tempt them but it will be interesting to see if they are willing to overpay for the player.

Sebastien Haller stands as an excellent option for Dortmund. He will be an ideal choice for Rose as he ticks all the right boxes in terms of what he demands from his attackers.
