BVB are reportedly keeping a close eye on many centre-backs across the Europe.
As per British and German media, Borussia Dortmund have joined the hunt for Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen.
The Denmark international joined Chelsea from Brøndby IF on a free transfer in 2012. His contract is set to expire at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
The centre-back has featured in 21 matches this term, netting two goals and providing one assist in all competitions.
The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Denmark. His record for Denmark is also impressive. Christensen has scored one goal in 54 matches for Denmark at senior level.
His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Borussia Dortmund.
The Borussia Dortmund manager is in the market for a new centre-back. Marco Rose is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.
BVB are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The former Brøndby IF man has a good defensive mind, someone who can spot attacking threats and nullify them. He has the quality and the experience to make an immediate impact.
According to the report, “Borussia Dortmund are among the teams looking at Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen. The Danish international is a key member of the squad under Thomas Tuchel, but is pondering moving on at the expiry of his contract in the summer. According to Sport1, Dortmund are the latest club to join the queue to sign him on a free transfer. Christensen has held contract talks with Chelsea, but the two parties have not been close to an agreement. He may also believe that a move to Dortmund would allow him to play regular football, as he is not always first choice at Chelsea.”
