Besiktas linked with a move for Jonathan Kodjia
Besiktas are reportedly keeping a close eye on many forwards across the Europe.
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Besiktas are linked with a move for Aston Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia.
The Ivory Coast international was signed by Aston Villa in August 2016 from Bristol City for a fee of 12.9 million euros. The 29-year-old has a contract until 2020 with the club.
Kodjia has scored 29 goals in 98 games for Aston Villa since joining the club in 2016.
The 29-year-old is considered to be one of the best forwards in Ivory Coast.
His record for Ivory Coast is also impressive. Kodjia has scored 8 goals in 16 matches for Ivory Coast at senior level.
Abdullah Avcı wants to sign a new forward and Jonathan Kodjia is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. Avcı is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this summer.
According to Tribalfootball, “Aston Villa forward Jonathan Kodjia could be on the move this month. Kodjia could leave Villa with Besiktas interested in the 29-year-old, according to Orta Cizgi. Kodjia has reportedly taken steps to push through his departure from Villa Park, with negotiations already underway. Villa boss Dean Smith is unlikely to block the winger from departing in the coming days.”
