Bayern open talks for Sadio Mane

When it comes to the transfer market, Bayern are simply one of the best in the business.

According to the football transfer rumours in German media, Bayern Munich have opened talks with Sadio Mane’s agent.

The 30-year-old has been at the Premier League club for six seasons, having joined the side from Southampton in 2016. He has one year left on his current contract which expires in 2023.

The winger banged in 21 goals and provided four assists in 47 matches this season across all fronts showcasing just how influential he has been in the final third. He is considered to be the best football player in Senegal. His record for Senegal is also impressive. Sadio Mane has scored 28 goals in 86 matches for Senegal at senior level.

He has just 12 months remaining on his contract and Liverpool may consider a deal in this transfer window to avoid losing him for nothing next summer.

Julian Nagelsmann wants to sign a new winger and Mane is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. The Bayern manager has been impressed by his performances and could make a move this summer.

The German giants are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

There is no doubt that Sadio Mane will take Bayern Munich’s attack to a different level.

According to the report, “Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in taking advantage of Sadio Mane’s delayed contract talks at Liverpool by signing the winger this summer. The Senegal star is currently under contract until the summer of 2023, but talks over a new deal have so far proved tricky with Sky Sports suggesting that Mane is unhappy that Mo Salah’s own new deal talks have taken priority at Anfield. The 30-year-old has enjoyed another outstanding campaign for Jurgen Klopp’s quadruple chasers. Sky Germany reports that while there has been no official contact between the two clubs, Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic met with Mane’s agent over the weekend.”

The German giants will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Mane to join the club.

If Bayern Munich can agree on a fee with the Reds, the deal should be easy to complete.

Good signing for Bayern Munich?

Signing the 30-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Nagelsmann.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Munich.

How strong that interest is and whether Bayern will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
