Bayer Leverkusen set to sign Brandon Williams

Bayer Leverkusen need to strengthen their defense.

According to the football transfer rumours in British and German media, Bayer Leverkusen are set to sign Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams.

The 20-year-old left-back has played all his life at Manchester United. He has made his way through the youth system at the English club and made his senior debut in 2019.

In 41 appearances for United, Williams has managed to score one goal, and create 3 goals for his teammates.

The 20-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in England.

Brandon Williams has represented England at Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 5 caps.

He is currently out of favor at Manchester United and could leave the club this winter.

Bayer are looking to sign a left-back and have identified the 20-year-old as potential transfer target. Peter Bosz has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe.

Bosz is a known admirer of the player and is reportedly keen on the idea of bringing him this winter.

Williams is a long-term target of Bayer Leverkusen and could be a decent addition for Peter Bosz’s side.

Bayer Leverkusen are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

Brandon Williams is a skilled left-back who can make a difference at both ends of the pitch. His versatile nature can help the manager to be more flexible with the formations.

According to the report, “Bayer Leverkusen want to buy Manchester United fullback Brandon Williams. The 20-year-old has struggled for game time this season and has played just six minutes of Premier League football since the start of the 2020-21 campaign. Sky Sports says Bayer want to bring in Williams on a permanent transfer – though the Red Devils will only negotiate over a loan deal. The report says the Bundesliga side are looking for a replacement for loan defender Santiago Arias, who arrived from Atletico Madrid earlier this season but then broke his leg and suffered ankle ligament damage while away with Colombia. Bayer were strongly linked with a move for Arsenal full-back Sead Kolasinac earlier this year, but a move for the former Schalke man failed to materialise before October’s transfer deadline. A move to Germany would be a major boost for Williams who may need to look away from Old Trafford if he wants to further his career.”

Bayer Leverkusen will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Williams to join the club.

United are preparing to loan their left-back should they receive right offer for him.

Good signing for Bayer Leverkusen?

Bayer in particular need to sort out a left-back for the second part of the season and the 20-year-old could be a solid signing for them.

If Williams is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Bayer.

A move to Bayer Leverkusen is exactly what Williams needs to reignite his career, and we hope he is able to do just that.

Bayer fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club.

It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds in the next few weeks.
