According to the football transfer rumours in German media, Basel are looking to loan Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.

He is out of the picture at Liverpool, which has opened the door for a potential exit.

Patrick Rahmen wants to sign a new goalkeeper and Karius is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

Basel are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

According to the report, “FC Basel are eyeing Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius. After spending last season on-loan with Union Berlin, Karius is currently back at Liverpool, though not registered for the Premier League. BILD says Basel are preparing a January move for Karius. The Swiss wish to take the keeper on-loan for the second-half of the season. Karius, 28, was strictly limited to the bench at Union Berlin last term.”

Basel will have to come up with the right proposal to convince Karius to join the club.

It is claimed that Liverpool are open to letting Karius go.

Good signing for Basel?

Undoubtedly he would be a fantastic recruit for Basel.

A move to Basel is exactly what Karius needs to reignite his career, and we hope he is able to do just that.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Basel come calling for Karius this winter.
