Barcelona set to sign Chelsea winger
When it comes to the transfer market, Barcelona are simply one of the best in the business.
The latest reports in England suggest that Barcelona are set to sign Chelsea winger Willian.
The 31-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.
Chelsea spent 35.5 million euros to sign the Brazil international from Anzhi Makhachkala in the summer of 2013. The 31-year-old has a valid contract with Chelsea until June 2020.
In 323 appearances for Chelsea, Willian has managed to score 57 goals, and create 58 goals for his teammates.
The 31-year-old is considered to be one of the best wingers in Brazil.
His record for Brazil is also impressive. Willian has scored 9 goals in 69 matches for Brazil at senior level.
Willian is widely regarded as a key transfer target for Barcelona this summer. He is a long-term target of Barcelona and could be a decent addition for Quique Setien’s side.
There is no doubt that Willian will take Barcelona’s attack to a different level.
According to the report, ” Barcelona are close to agreeing a deal to sign Willian on a free transfer for next season, according to Spanish reports. The Brazilian has just half a season left on his current Stamford Bridge contract but is yet to agree an extension. And Marca claim LaLiga champions Barca almost have a deal finalised to bring the 31-year-old to the Nou Camp this summer. Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has urged the club to go all out and tie down Willian’s future, with the winger becoming a favourite for the new manager after Eden Hazard’s departure to Real Madrid. The Blues have already offered the forward a one-year extension, though the player is seeking a two-year deal and increase on his £110,000-a-week wages. But Willian’s representatives are also said to have met with Barca bosses “several times” to discuss terms over a free transfer at the end of the term.”
