Barcelona keen on Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez

Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez has emerged as a surprise target for Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish Media, Barcelona are keen on Ajax centre-back Davinson Sanchez.

The Colombia international was signed by Ajax in July 2016 from Atlético Nacional for a fee of 5 million euros. The 20-year-old has a valid contract with Ajax until June 2021.

Since his arrival from Atlético Nacional, Davinson Sanchez has scored six goals and provided two assists in 45 games for Ajax in all competitions this season.

The 20-year-old is considered to be one of the best centre-backs in Colombia.

Davinson Sanchez has represented Colombia at Under-17, Under-20 and Under-23 level, winning 17 caps, before making his senior international debut in November 2016.

Barcelona want to continue to strengthening his squad so they’re able to compete both domestically and in the Champions League next season.

Euro Football Rumours understood that Barcelona are preparing an offer for Ajax young star Davinson Sanchez in the summer transfer window.

Premier League champions Chelsea are apparently trailing Barcelona in the pursuit of Ajax centre-back.

How strong that interest is and whether Barcelona will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
