Barcelona join the hunt for Valencia winger Ferran Torres
It’s no secret that Barcelona are interested in Ferran Torres. But who isn’t?
According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Barcelona have joined the hunt for Valencia winger Ferran Torres.
The 20-year-old has a valid contract with Valencia until June 2021.
Ferran Torres made 87 appearances across all competitions for Valencia, scoring 8 goals and supplying 10 assists in return.
The 20-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Spain.
Ferran Torres is set to be a man in demand in the summer transfer window, with a host of clubs queueing up to pursue his signature.
Barcelona have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and immense potential.
The 20-year-old is a long-term target of Barcelona and could be a decent addition for Quique Setien’s side.
Ferran Torres would provide a good variety to Barcelona’s attack.
According to the report, “Barcelona are interested in signing Valencia winger Ferran Torres this year and the player would be keen on the Camp Nou, report El Mundo Deportivo. The 19-year-old, who is rated as one of the brightest prospects in Spain, penned a new contract with Los Che in April 2018 in a deal which runs through until 2021 – with a reported €100m release clause, although reports conflict as to whether this is still running. Torres is represented by Leaderbrock Sports, is the same one that brokered the deal for the highly-rated teenage star Pedri of Las Palmas to move to the Blaugrana this summer, and with whom Barca share close relations. It is now said that Valencia are hoping to once again tie the highly-rated winger Torres down to a new deal to ward off interest from clubs, including Real Madrid and Liverpool.”

It would take a huge offer from Barcelona to prise the 20-year-old winger from Valencia.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Barcelona.
How strong that interest is and whether Barcelona will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
