Atletico Madrid are showing strong interest in Denis Zakaria.

According to the football transfer rumours in Spanish media, Atletico Madrid will look to sign Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria.

The 22-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

The Switzerland international joined Borussia Monchengladbach from Young Boys for a fee in the region of 12 million euros in July 2017. His contract expires in the summer of 2022.

In 76 appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach, Zakaria has managed to score 7 goals, and create 4 goals for his teammates.

The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Switzerland. As a member of Switzerland national football team, Zakaria won 24 caps and he scored 3 goals.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Atletico Madrid.

Diego Simeone wants to sign a new midfielder and Denis Zakaria is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. Simeone is a long term admirer of Zakaria and believes he can get the most out of the Switzerland international.

Diario AS cites a report in German outlet Express which claims the 22-year-old is on Atleti’s radar and claims that he would be available for transfer in the region of €40m. It states that English duo Manchester United and Tottenham are also interested in the Switzerland international, who transfermarkt say has a value of €28m in the current climate.”

Atletico Madrid have to fork out a huge transfer fee if they are genuinely interested in the Switzerland international.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Atletico Madrid.
