Aston Villa will look to sign Wilfred Ndidi

There has been intense speculation surrounding the future of Wilfred Ndidi in the last period.

According to multiple reports emanating from England, Aston Villa will look to sign Leicester star Wilfred Ndidi.

The 25-year-old has been with Leicester since 2017, having signed for the club from Genk for 17.6 million euros. The Nigeria international’s current deal expires in 2024.

He has featured in 26 matches for Leicester this term, netting two goals and providing one assist in all competitions.

The 25-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Nigeria. Ndidi has earned 43 senior caps for the Nigeria national team but is yet to open his goal-scoring account for his nation.

His performances have seen him become the target of many European clubs including Aston Villa.

The Nigeria international is thought to perfectly fit the profile of midfielder Steven Gerrard wants to target in the summer transfer window.

Villa are thinking big in the summer after a January transfer window in which they attracted Philippe Coutinho and Lucas Digne to the club. Steven Gerrard is expected to be granted further substantial funding in the summer to continue his claret and blue rebuild, and it might be that Villa look away from first-choice midfield target Yves Bissouma of Brighton and Hove Albion.”
