Aston Villa will look to sign David Brooks
Over the past couple of weeks, there has been intense speculation over the future of David Brooks at Bournemouth.
British source claim that Aston Villa will look to sign David Brooks.
Brooks has been at Bournemouth since 2018 when he joined from Sheffield United. The 23-year-old’s contract at Bournemouth is set to expire at the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
The 23-year-old is considered to be one of the best midfielders in Wales. The Bournemouth midfielder has represented the Wales at various youth levels before going on to secure 12 senior caps for his country thus far.
His performances have seen him become the target of many Premier League clubs including Aston Villa.
Dean Smith wants to sign a new midfielder and Brooks is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a long term admirer of Brooks and believes he can get the most out of the Wales international.
Villa are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.
The Wales international will offer the Aston Villa boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.
According to the report, “Bournemouth playmaker David Brooks is wanted by Aston Villa. The Mirror says Villa want to bring in Brooks before the end of the January transfer window. Brooks has scored five times and provided three assists during the Cherries’ promotion push from the Championship following their relegation from the Premier league last season. That form has caught the eye of Villa boss Dean Smith as he looks to continue his £200million investment in the squad since their promotion in 2019. Former Manchester City midfielder Brooks had been sidelined by a long-term injury but has played a prominent part in high-flying Bournemouth’s success so far this season.”

The 23-year-old is a promising young midfielder and could be a good addition to Villa’s squad.
Signing the 23-year-old in the winter transfer window would be a masterstroke from Smith.
Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Aston Villa.
It will be interesting to see if Aston Villa make their move for the 23-year-old in the coming weeks.
