The Norway international will offer the Aston Villa boss the freedom to be more flexible with his formations, tactics and team selections.

According to the report, “Aston Villa are emerging as the likeliest destination for Sander Berge. The Sheffield United midfielder is not interested in spending next season in the Championship. Berge would prefer to leave the club in the summer, and the Norway international could command a significant fee. According to Eurosport, Villa are admirers of Berge, and could make a summer move when Sheffield United are officially relegated. Berge has been absent since December following surgery on a tendon in his leg.”

If Aston Villa can agree on a fee with Sheffield United, the deal should be easy to complete.

Good signing for Aston Villa?

If Berge is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Villa.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Aston Villa.

The 23-year-old is certainly a player that would strengthen the current Aston Villa squad and would be a good buy in the summer transfer window.

It will be interesting to see what happens when Aston Villa come calling for Sander Berge this summer.
