The 26-year-old has been subject to interest from various European clubs.

Icardi made 219 appearances across all competitions for Inter Milan, scoring 124 goals and supplying 28 assists in return.

The 26-year-old is considered to be one of the best strikers in Argentina.

Mauro Icardi is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Inter Milan this summer and the list of suitors in the Argentina international continues to grow.

Leonardo Jardim is keen to secure at least one more signing this summer, and Mauro Icardi could very well be a man under consideration. He is a long term admirer of Mauro Icardi and believes he can get the most out of the Argentina international.

The Argentina international provides a unique blend between a classic center-forward and the modern striker.

According to Football Italia, “Monaco are reportedly new contenders for Mauro Icardi, offering €65m plus bonuses for the Inter striker and a €12m per year salary. The Argentine is increasingly backed into a corner at San Siro, as the Nerazzurri have frozen him out, he continues to reject Napoli and hold out for Juventus, even though it’s becoming more and more unlikely Juve will be able to go in for him. According to Rai Sport, there is another intriguing development with an offer from AS Monaco, who have had a disastrous start to their Ligue 1 campaign. The report claims that Monaco are prepared to match Napoli’s offer of €60-65m plus bonuses, but with a much higher salary of €12m per season net over five years. The Partenopei are so far believed to be proposing €7.5m plus bonuses to reach €9.5m. Inter would certainly prefer to sell Icardi abroad, especially to a club that isn’t even in the Champions League, but it all depends on whether the player and wife/agent Wanda Nara accept.”

Stylistically, Icardi would be a great fit in Monaco.

Monaco fans would certainly love to see him arrive at the club this summer.

Whether he will join Monaco or not remains to be seen.
