Arsenal will look to sign Real Sociedad star Alexander Isak

It’s no secret that Arsenal are interested in Alexander Isak. But who isn’t?

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Arsenal will look to sign Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak.

The Sweden international joined Real Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund for a fee in the region of 15 million euros in July 2019. He has five years left on his current contract which expires in 2026.

The forward has banged in five goals and provided one assist in 13 matches this term on all fronts.

The 22-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Sweden. Isak has also left his mark at the international stage after netting 8 goals in 29 senior appearances for the Sweden national team.

He is enjoying an excellent season so far. His impressive performances have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.

Mikel Arteta wants to sign a new forward and Isak is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a firm fan of Real Sociedad forward and Arsenal could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

The Gunners are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

The Sweden international provides a unique blend between a classic center-forward and the modern striker. His finishing abilities when in and around the box will come as a massive asset to Arteta’s side.

According to the report, “Arsenal have made a La Liga striker their ‘total priority’ as they look to replace Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman is edging closer to an Arsenal exit as his contract winds down. He will be free to leave north London in June, with West Ham and Newcastle eyeing his signature. The Gunners are on the lookout for his successor and have put multiple names on their wish list. Dusan Vlahovic and Andrea Belotti are both under consideration. Vlahovic looks set to be sold in the summer after rejecting the offer of a new contract with Fiorentina. Belotti is in a similar position, although his transfer could take place in January. Despite those links, it seems Arsenal have made clear who they want to partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang up top. Sport Witness, citing reports in the Spanish press, claim that Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak is now the ‘total priority’.”

Real Sociedad are reluctant to let Isak go, but a big enough bid could persuade them to sell.

If Arsenal can agree on a fee with Real Sociedad, the deal should be easy to complete.

Alexander Isak ideal fit for Arsenal?

Alexander Isak stands as an excellent option for Arsenal.

Arsenal could benefit by signing Isak as the forward is one of the areas of concern for Mikel Arteta.

A forward of Isak’s ceiling will be a massive addition to Arsenal squad as he will not only improve the overall quality of Arteta’s starting XI but also add some stability and variety to his attacking department.

How strong that interest is and whether Arsenal will make a move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
