As the summer transfer window comes closer and closer Arsenal are being linked with more and more potential transfers.
According to multiple reports emanating from England, Arsenal will look to sign Bologna left-back Aaron Hickey.
The Scotland international joined Bologna from Heart of Midlothian for a fee in the region of 1.7 million euros in September 2020. His contract expires in the summer of 2024.
He has featured in 33 matches this term, netting 5 goals and providing one assist in all competitions.
The 19-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Scotland. Hickey has earned two senior caps for the Scotland national team but is yet to open his goal-scoring account for his nation.
His impressive performances this season have apparently caught the eye of some of Europe’s big clubs.
The Gunners are looking to sign a left-back and have identified the 19-year-old as potential transfer target. Mikel Arteta has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe. He is a long term admirer of Hickey and believes he can get the most out of the Scotland international.
The former Heart of Midlothian man can also play as a full-back, offering Arteta a different option should he change his formation at Arsenal.
According to the report, “Arsenal are ready to make a bid for Bologna fullback Aaron Hickey. Gunners chief Edu is impressed by the Scot and wants to bring him to London this summer. Football.London says Arsenal are now set to make an £18m offer for Hickey.”
