Arsenal will look to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Neto

Over the past couple of weeks, there has been intense speculation over the future of Neto at Barcelona.

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Arsenal will look to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Neto.

The Spanish giants spent 26 million euros to sign the Brazil international from Valencia in the summer of 2019. The 32-year-old has two years left on his current contract which expires in 2023.

Since his arrival from Valencia, Neto has conceded 15 goals and provided 7 clean sheets in 17 games for Barcelona.

The 32-year-old is considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in Brazil. As a member of Brazil national football team, Neto won one cap.

Neto is one of the more likely players to be offloaded by Barcelona this summer and the list of suitors in the Brazil international continues to grow.

Mikel Arteta wants to sign a new goalkeeper and Neto is one of the names at the top of his wishlist. He is a firm fan of Barcelona goalkeeper and Arsenal could make a move for the player if the financial aspect makes sense.

The Gunners are desperate to make an impact in the summer transfer window.

According to the report, “Arsenal are pushing to secure Barcelona goalkeeper Neto this summer. The Gunners are working hard on several transfer deals for manager Mikel Arteta as they seek to improve on last season’s mid table Premier League finish. According to Mundo Deportivo in Spain, Neto has been pushing for a move to Arsenal since January. Barcelona are more receptive to a deal this summer, as they are looking to offload several first team players to lower their salary bill. Neto, who made a £23.3 million move to the La Liga giants from Valencia in June 2019, wants regular first team football. He would compete with Bernd Leno at Arsenal and is presently second choice to Marc Andre Ter Stegen at Barcelona.”

If Arsenal can agree on a fee with Barcelona, the deal should be easy to complete.

The Spanish giants are preparing to sell their goalkeeper should they receive right offer for him.

Good signing for Arsenal?

If Neto is available for the right price, then he could be a clever acquisition for Arsenal.

A move away from Barcelona will not be only the best move for Neto, but also for the club.

It will be interesting to see if Arsenal can beat their rivals to the goalkeeper’s signature.
