Arsenal target Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont

According to the football transfer rumours in French Media (Le10Sport), Arsenal are targeting Toulouse goalkeeper Alban Lafont.

The France international has joined Toulouse in 2014. The 18-year-old has a valid contract with Toulouse until June 2020.

Lafont has conceded 70 goals and provided 19 clean sheets in 62 games for Toulouse in all competitions.

The France international goalkeeper has been in impressive form for Toulouse last season.

Alban Lafont has represented France at Under-16, Under-17, Under-18 and Under-20 level, winning 14 caps.

Arsène Wenger wants to sign a new goalkeeper this summer and Alban Lafont is one of the names at the top of his wishlist.

Arsenal manager has always been a manager who keeps his eyes on the most talented young players across the globe.

Arsène Wenger will reportedly be handed a huge transfer kitty this summer and the Toulouse goalkeeper is thought to be among the manager’s priorities.

Arsenal are in the market for just a handful of statement signings this summer who can improve the first-team.

However, there is some talk that Arsène Wenger could rotate his players more next season as Arsenal look to compete on four fronts, so there could still be enough game time available for Alban Lafont if he did make the move.

With questions being raised concerning Petr Cech’s future at the club, the Arsenal boss could well look to Alban Lafont as an ideal replacement.

How strong that interest is and whether Arsenal will make a summer move remains to be seen but it is certainly one worth keeping an eye on.
