The 18-year-old heavily relies on his ability to read the game. It is coupled with his sensible tackling and an excellent sense of positioning, allowing him to repel most of the danger in the defensive third. He has the talent to play many roles in defense.

According to the report, “Arsenal have a deal in place for Hertha Berlin defender Omar Rekik. However, the Dutch youngster won’t join the Gunners until January. Arsenal have agreed a £900,000 fee with Hertha for Rekik. The Bundesliga side confirmed the loan signing of Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi earlier on Monday. And, as part of negotiations, the north London side have put a deal in place for Hertha’s 18-year-old Dutch centre-back who was previously at Manchester City. Paperwork couldn’t be completed in time for the deal to go through last night and instead it’s been agreed Rekik will join the Gunners on January 1.”

Good signing for Arsenal?

It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value.

Although he may not be an immediate improvement to the squad, he could be a valuable signing for the future if he continues to progress at this rate.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Arsenal.
