Arsenal are in the market for just a handful of statement signings who can improve the first-team.

According to Tribalfootball (via ESPN FC) , “Arsenal are interested in signing RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano. According to ESPN FC, the Gunners want to add a younger defender to ease the burden on their older centre-backs. With transfer funds tight amid missing out on a Champions League spot, the Gunners will look at Upamecano, 20, as a gettable target. They have not made an official bid, but it is imminent.”

RB Leipzig are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the centre-back, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

Signing the 20-year-old in the summer transfer window would be a masterstroke from Unai Emery.

Whether he will join Arsenal or not remains to be seen.
