Arsenal keen on Nicolas Tagliafico

Arsenal are reportedly one of many clubs keeping tabs on Argentina international Nicolas Tagliafico.

The reports in England suggested that Arsenal are keen on Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico.

The Argentina international joined Ajax from Independiente for a fee in the region of 4 million euros in January 2018. His contract expires in the summer of 2022.

Tagliafico has played 30 times for Ajax since signing from Independiente, scoring three goals and creating four assists in that time.

The 26-year-old is considered to be one of the best left-backs in Argentina.

The Argentina international has been in outstanding form this season.

As a member of Argentina national football team, Tagliafico won ten caps.

The Arsenal manager is in the market for a new left-back. The report claims that Unai Emery has extensively scouted Tagliafico and is considering a move for the left-back.

According to The Sun, “Arsenal are looking to bring in Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico as a long-term replacement for Nacho Monreal. The Argentine has caught the eye of Gunners boss Unai Emery after some impressive performances on the left flank for the Dutch outfit. The full-back would be a direct replacement for the ageing Monreal, who turns 33 in February, and will also mean Sead Kolasinac is surplus to requirements at the Emirates.”

Ajax are reluctant to let Tagliafico go, but a big enough bid could persuade them to sell.

Stylistically, he would be a great fit in Arsenal.
