Arsenal keen on Benfica winger Andrija Zivkovic

Andrija Zivkovic is a target for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

According to the football transfer rumours in Serbian media (Blic), Arsenal are interested in Benfica winger Andrija Zivkovic.

The Serbia international joined Benfica from Partizan on a free transfer in July 2016. His contract expires in the summer of 2021.

Since his arrival from Partizan, Zivkovic has scored two goals and provided 15 assists in 41 games for Benfica, including one goal and four assists in 17 games in all competitions this season.

The 21-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in Serbia.

Andrija Zivkovic has represented Serbia at Under-16, Under-17, Under-19, Under-20 and Under-21 level, winning 43 caps and scoring 18 goals, before making his senior international debut in October 2013. As a member of Serbia national football team, Zivkovic won seven caps.

The Serbia international has impressed in the Liga NOS this season and is starting to attract the interest of bigger clubs.

The report claims that Arsenal manager has extensively scouted Andrija Zivkovic and is considering a move for the winger.

Arsene Wenger is a long term admirer of Andrija Zivkovic and believes he can get the most out of the Serbia international.

According to the Blic, Arsenal are tracking Andrija Zivkovic and could bring the Serbian in the summer transfer window to the Emirates. Zivkovic is already semi-regular performer for Benfica. Arsenal’s scouts in Portugal have regularly watched the Serbia international in action during Benfica games.

Benfica are not in a position where they need to sell and would like to keep hold of the winger, but right offer may force the club to consider a deal.

It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal will make their move during the summer transfer window.
