Arsenal join the hunt for WBA forward Reyes Cleary

Over the past couple of weeks, there has been intense speculation over the future of Reyes Cleary at WBA.

According to the football transfer rumours in British media, Arsenal have joined the hunt for WBA forward Reyes Cleary.

The forward has banged in 20 goals and provided 2 assists in 21 matches this term on all fronts.

The 17-year-old has been touted as one of the brightest young prospects in England.

Cleary will be high in demand this summer, with him having enjoyed a sublime season for WBA this term.

West Brom have offered Cleary a professional contract and included him in first team squads this season. However, the 17-year old has yet to agree to sign and that situation, plus his powerful displays, have been attracting top clubs home and abroad, including German champions Bayern Munich. Cleary scored twice on Monday as West Brom U23s knocked QPR out of the Premier League Cup. A sharp left footed finish and a curling right footed effort proved the foundation for Albion’s win and reaffirmed Cleary as a prospect to pursue for watching scouts. As well as Arsenal, Southampton, Newcastle United and Everton have all expressed an interest in signing the stocky teenager while Bayer Leverkusen and Red Bull Salzburg have also watched him throughout the season.”

It is smart from the club to invest in younger players, rather than splashing out big money on experienced players with no resale value. Cleary is still quite young and he will only get better with experience. He would be a good long term investment for Arsenal.
